Executive Director Position
Organization Overview
Teen Empower is a nonprofit organization based in Oklahoma City, working to reduce teen pregnancy. Our mission is to empower, educate, and motivate teens to make informed decisions for their sexual health.
Through our peer education program, SHAPE (Sexual Health And Peer Education), we equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to protect their health and achieve their full potential. Partnering with schools, parents, and communities, we provide a safe, supportive space for teens to learn and grow. We help teens develop healthy relationships.
Position Summary:
The Executive Director will serve as a visionary leader, guiding our organization with empathy and a deep commitment to our mission. This individual will drive growth, oversee staff, support fund development, cultivate relationships in the community, and foster partnerships to enhance the organization’s impact. The Executive Director will represent Teen Empower as an advocate, leader, and catalyst for change, ensuring the organization continues to thrive and make a lasting difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Provide visionary leadership to the organization
- Set strategic goals in alignment with the mission
- Work to ensure the organization’s sustainability and growth
- Promote an affirming office environment with psychological safety
- Steward communication between staff and board members
Inspire and motivate staff, volunteers, and stakeholders to achieve our mission and vision - Stand as the face and voice of our organization
Program Supervision
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs.
- Stay informed about trends and best practices in sexual health education and youth development
- Develop partnerships with schools, community organizations, and healthcare providers to expand program reach and impact
Fundraising & Financial Management
- Identify and develop new funding streams
- Work with the Board of Directors and join the Fund Development Committee
- Oversee the preparation of and manage the annual budget
Community Engagement and Advocacy
- Serve as our primary spokesperson and advocate, leading events
- Build relationships with community leaders, policymakers, and donors
- Promote the organization’s programs and impact through public speaking and strategic partnerships
- Cultivate partnerships to advance sexual health education in Oklahoma
Board Interaction
- Regularly attend scheduled Board meetings and present an executive summary
- Strategize goals, share organizational performance, and financial status
- Assist in the recruitment and orientation of Board members
Operational Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise staff, fostering a positive and inclusive culture
- Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and systems to support organizational effectiveness
Qualifications
- Passion for youth development, sexual health education, and community empowerment
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, public health, education, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector
- Proven ability to lead and manage diverse teams, develop strategic initiatives, and deliver measurable results
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in financial management and fundraising
- Experience in grant writing and stakeholder relations

Compensation Package
- Annual Salary, within $70,000 - $80,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications
